From September 11th to September 13th there was the Jubilee International Academic Conference N.E.W.S. in Belgrade. Megatrend University had the honor to be the host and the organizer of this event of tremendous significance in educational, economic and integrational sense – for the first time bringing the N.E.W.S. Conference into Serbia. The Executive Secretary of the N.E.W.S. Conference is professor Mi?a Jovanovi?, PhD, the Rector of Megatrend University. The N.E.W.S. Conference epitomizes the opportunity for rectors, presidents, vice-rectors, deans and other highly ranked representatives of the universities and institutes from all around the world to gather in annual level.
On Wednesday, September 11th, the Jubilee 10th N.E.W.S. Conference was opened by professor Tomislav Jovanovi?, PhD, the Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The Minister cordially greeted all participants of this academic gathering, commended the initiative of Megatrend University, and assessed the Conference as one of the significant academic events for the development of higher education in the Republic of Serbia.

After the Minister, the Rector of Megatrend University, professor Mi?a Jovanovi?, PhD, gave the speech in which he emphasized that this Conference signified an important step of the advancing of Serbian educational system towards modern worldwide models. “This International Academic Conference will discuss the issues of the biggest challenges of modern education, but as well will discuss the considerations of different geopolitical, in particular, geoeconomic integrations in Asia, Europe and Latin America” – said the Rector of Megatrend University.

The President of the N.E.W.S. Conference and the Vice-president of Three Gorges University in China, Jiao Shijian, commented on the course of development of the Global University Network and the benefits which wew provided to all its members.
